Trace State Park in northeastern Mississippi is a state recreation area centered on the 565-acre Trace Lake and named for the nearby Natchez Trace, the historic route that shaped travel through this part of the South. Formerly known as Old Natchez Trace Park, it combines lake, woodland, and trails with boating, waterskiing, fishing, campsites, cabins, cottages, picnic areas, and the Jason M. Stewart Nature Trail. Its extensive trail system supports mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicles, and it also includes two 18-hole disc golf courses. The area has a frontier connection as Davy Crockett once lived within what is now the park.
