Its centerpiece is the 59-acre Walnut Point Lake, a stream-fed reservoir formed by an earthen dam, where quiet use is emphasized through electric-motor-only boating and no swimming. The park includes the 65-acre Upper Embarras Woods nature preserve and supports diverse trees, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. With trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, fishing access, and seasonal activities such as cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and limited hunting, it serves both recreation and conservation.
