The Frick Pittsburgh is a museum campus in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood built around Clayton, the nineteenth-century Frick family home. The estate began as an Italianate house in the 1860s, was purchased by Henry Clay Frick and his wife in 1881, and served as the family’s main residence until their move to New York in 1905. Over time it expanded and was preserved largely through the efforts of Helen Clay Frick, who helped secure public access after her death. Today the site includes the restored mansion, art and carriage museums, gardens, and other historic buildings, and in 2025 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
