Education
In Princeton, Kentucky, the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center Botanical Garden forms part of the university’s broader agricultural research presence in western Kentucky. Rooted in the Agricultural Experiment Station established in 1885 and the West Kentucky Substation founded in 1925, the site developed as a working center for agricultural study rather than an ornamental garden alone. Today, the Experiment Station Farm spans almost 1,300 acres devoted to research on crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, tobacco, fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. The site also includes an orchard, vineyard, grape plantings, and areas for small fruit trees and ornamental research.
