The Austin Building was owned by W.E. Austin and family from 1908 to 1960 and later by Charles and Beverly Runyan, who operated it as a gift shop from 1996 to the present. Its historic uses included The Alcove from 1909 to 1939 and Neuman's Dry Goods from 1940 to 1984. It was designated as a landmark building on April 20, 1998.
