Friendship Hall is a fine two and a half story brick house with pilasters on the front and two oval windows in the pediment of the west gable. It was the home of the Sulivane family, settlers here since the 17th century, and three generations of the family served in the Maryland General Assembly: James Sulivane, a commissary officer in the Revolutionary War who, with Thomas Logan, organized the New Market Blues; Dr. Daniel Sulivane, elected to the House of Delegates in 1824; and Colonel Clement Sulivane, a lawyer and Confederate veteran. Its restoration was begun in 1972 by Dr. M. Fred Tidwell and Joseph B. Gavlick.
