Kelsey Peak is a 10,373-foot mountain in the Oquirrh Mountains of northern Utah, on the boundary of Tooele and Utah counties in the Great Basin. One of the higher summits in its range and county, it rises sharply above nearby canyons, with especially dramatic relief above West Canyon. Its runoff splits between two major drainages, with west-slope water flowing toward Settlement Canyon Reservoir near Tooele and east-slope water draining toward Utah Lake. In the Great Basin Desert, its elevation tempers hot summers and cold winters. The peak was officially named in 1976 for Eli B. Kelsey, a prominent Tooele County legislator, attorney, real estate dealer, and mining developer.
