Berry Davidson was a builder and designer of saw mills, grist mills, and cotton mills whose work helped industrialize the Central Piedmont. In Gibsonville he built Minneola Cotton Mill on Railroad Avenue in 1886, Hiawatha Cotton Mill on Eugene Street in 1893, his home on Church Street in 1887, and the Methodist Protestant Church on Church Street in 1893. Davidson served as mayor of Gibsonville from 1907 to 1911.
