Black Mountain Lookout Cabin
History
Black Mountain Lookout Cabin is a small log lookout cabin on Black Mountain in New Mexico’s Gila National Forest. Built in 1925, it is a historic structure tied to the surrounding forested mountain landscape. Its importance lies in its survival as an early 20th-century forest lookout cabin preserved in a remote setting. In 1988, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of that historic value.
