Paul Brown led Ohio high school state championship teams from 1935 to 1940, guided Ohio State to a collegiate national championship in 1942, integrated professional football in 1946, won AAFC championships from 1946 to 1949 and NFL championships in 1950, 1954, and 1965, was named Sporting News Coach of the Year in 1949, 1951, and 1953 and UPI Coach of the Year in 1957, 1969, and 1970, patented the single-bar face mask with Riddell in 1954, entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967 and the Miami University Hall of Fame in 1969, received the Walter Camp Man of the Year award in 1989, and was ranked number 1 in the NFL's 100 Greater Game Changers in 2019.
