In 1906 George Moffett and his wife deeded land to the Hardin County Board of Education for a two story school building. Built in 1907 or 08, that building apparently burned, and a new building was erected in the mid-1920s to house both the elementary and high school. This white framed one story building included a gymnasium, but it also burned sometime in the mid-1930s. A new brick school was constructed shortly afterward and continued in use as both a high school and an elementary school. The first graduating class was in 1930 and the last graduating class was in 1963. The high school closed in 1963 and the elementary school in 1976. Hundreds of students gained a better life through the education they achieved here.
