After many discussions of how they viewed their community, Mississinawa Valley art students created a community mural. The mural was digitally created due to Covid 19 and the inability to go directly to the site; however, this did not stop the MV students from creating community art. Creation of the mural began in February of 2021 and concluded in May. Art teacher Ashley Austerman and visiting artist Timothy Wells guided the students' drawings into a digital mural. The hope was for this project to enhance community pride and bring attention to the attributes of Union City. The project was made possible by student contributions, sponsors, and a grant from the Ohio Arts Council, which covered the cost of visiting artist Timothy Wells.
