The IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico is devoted to contemporary Indigenous art and was founded by the Institute of American Indian Arts in 1991. Regarded as the only museum in the United States specifically dedicated to collecting and presenting contemporary art by Indigenous artists, it occupies the city’s old post office, a Pueblo Revival building near Santa Fe Plaza and Saint Francis Cathedral. Its exhibitions and permanent collection focus on intertribal Native American art, with nearly 10,000 works dating from 1962 onward, supported by public programs, conservation facilities, and the nearby Allan Houser Sculpture Garden and Art Park.
