Eastchester Memorial Park was dedicated on October 23, 1972, in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the defense of the United States of America. It was presented to the people of Eastchester by the President of the United States to honor those whose sacrifices are remembered there, with the words, “We honor not only their memory but also the principles of justice and freedom for which they gave their lives.” The park was also dedicated in grateful appreciation to the people of the Town of Eastchester for their unselfish and untiring efforts in building it, under Town Supervisor Anthony J. Colavita of Eastchester, New York.
