Federated Women's Club State Forest is a protected area in central Massachusetts spanning Petersham and New Salem and managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Known for the scenery along its wooded roads, especially near Fever Brook, it includes dammed water that provides a stopover for migrating birds. The forest's most prominent natural landmark is The Gorge in its southwestern section. It serves as a place for camping and quiet outdoor recreation, with trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, as well as opportunities for fishing and restricted hunting.
