Ashford was incorporated on June 22, 1891. On June 22, 1991, citizens, friends, and families of Ashford gathered to remember Ashford's durable and progressive history and to affirm their faith in its future by placing a time capsule in the park to be opened on June 22, 2091. In memory of those who had brought Ashford to that point and with hope for those who in the present and future would contribute to Ashford, the Centennial Committee took part in the dedication.
