Founded in 1967, the Port Huron Museum is a museum system in Port Huron, Michigan, made up of five historic sites: the Carnegie Museum, the Huron Lightship, the Thomas Edison Depot Museum, the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, and the Fort Gratiot Post Hospital. Its importance comes from linking multiple parts of the city’s past, including Great Lakes maritime history, navigation, local transportation, and historic public buildings. By preserving landmarks and museum spaces across several locations instead of a single building, it has remained one of Port Huron’s main cultural institutions.
