Honor is given to those who gave all, with prayers for eternal rest; to those missing in action, with remembrance and hope; to those wounded in action; to those who were prisoners of war, with rejoicing in their freedom; and to those who returned home, with eternal gratitude. Those killed in action were Robert E. Oldenburg, Cecil H. Dammerman, Hugo Voelker, Michael E. Vogel, Walter Schwerdtfeger, Paul L. Fischer, Forrest Morr, Ronald W. Ireland, John N. Scholes, Paul D. Polk, Charles J. Davis, George H. Rhodes, Eugene F. Goeckner, Donald C. Sproat, Edgar W. Suckow, William W. Julius, Gene Sine, Chester Jones, Lewis A. Rader, William L. McConkey, Bruce A. Williams, Herman M. Gieseking, Owen E. Cox, William G. Tappendorf, Keith W. Tipsword, Rudolph C. Siebert, Reuben B. Wade, and Granville H. Walling. Those missing in action were Glenn Loar and Hiram O. Ernest. The words "On fame's eternal camping ground their silent tents are spread, and glory guards with solemn round the bivouac of the dead" accompany this tribute.
