Franklin native Chief Justice Charles A. O’Niell lived from 1869 to 1951 and served on the Louisiana Supreme Court bench from 1914 to 1949. He was regarded as one of the state’s immortals for his contributions to law in the United States and to the cause of justice and freedom.
