Rice Lake State Park is a small 15-acre park in northern Iowa near Lake Mills on the south shore of Rice Lake. It serves as a simple access point for the lake’s open water and shoreline, with fishing and boating as its main uses. Anglers seek bass, bluegill, yellow perch, and walleye there, while migratory birds make the area a seasonal birdwatching destination. A notable historic feature is its stone picnic shelter, built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, which connects the park to the broader New Deal effort to create durable public facilities across the United States.
