The Schultz-Holmes Memorial Library was given to the Village of Blissfield through the will of Martha Schultz by Frederick Schultz, deceased in 1948, and Martha Schultz, deceased in 1950, in memory of Harold W. and Erma Schultz Holmes and their son, Frederick, all of whom were lost in Lake Superior in 1947 while on vacation at Isle Royal. Erma Schultz Holmes was the only child of Frederick and Martha Schultz.
