Rocky Fork State Park
Nature
Rocky Fork State Park in Highland County, Ohio, is centered on Rocky Fork Lake, a 2,080-acre reservoir with 31 miles of shoreline that shapes the park’s landscape and recreation. Added to the Ohio state park system in 1950, the area became a destination for boating, swimming, and day use, supported by marinas, boat ramps, beaches, picnic areas, hiking trails, and a nature center. The park also preserves evidence of much earlier human presence through two important Hopewellian archaeological sites, the Rocky Fork Park Group and the Rocky Fork Park Site, giving it significance beyond recreation.
