The Dublin Link is a 760-foot pedestrian suspension bridge spanning the Scioto River and the world’s longest single-tower S-shaped suspension bridge. Its deck passes through the keyhole of a 169-foot main tower, and it was created as a symbol of connectivity linking the east and west sides of the river. The bridge was envisioned for decades, included in Dublin’s 2007 Community Plan, and received funding in the 2013 updated Community Plan and five-year Capital Improvements Program. Construction began in 2017 and took three years. Although a dedication and grand illumination had been scheduled for March 13, 2020, the COVID-19 global pandemic and public health orders limiting gatherings postponed the community celebration. The bridge opened quietly on March 17, 2020, giving residents and visitors a safe outdoor destination during the pandemic and beyond, and it was officially dedicated on March 11, 2022.
