Snowhaven is a small community ski area in north central Idaho, about seven miles southeast of Grangeville, on east-facing slopes rising to 5,600 feet with a 400-foot vertical drop. Skiing began there around 1940, but use remained limited until after World War II. A new road in 1957 improved access, and in 1972 the area expanded with a 2,600-foot T-bar and new runs, funded by a federal Bureau of Outdoor Recreation grant. Operated by the City of Grangeville, Snowhaven now has a T-bar and rope tow serving nine trails, mostly for beginner skiers, and continues its long role as a local weekend ski hill.
