Constructed on or before 1856, this building housed Charles Peters’ Yreka Brewery and Saloon, with the saloon in the front portion and the brewery in the back. Peters was one of Yreka’s foremost citizens, dedicated to the community’s growth and development, and he served for many years as city treasurer. Extensive remodeling to the building’s interior and exterior distorted its original configuration and false-front appearance.
