Washington Column is a prominent rock formation in Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, rising about 1,800 feet above the valley floor. East of the Royal Arches, behind the Ahwahnee Hotel, and below North Dome, it is visible from many places in the valley, especially along the trail to Mirror Lake, where its steep face stands out. Its walls contain numerous rock climbing routes, giving it importance not only as a familiar landmark in Yosemite’s scenery but also as a notable destination for big-wall climbing.
