Drag Saw
Industry
11
The drag saw was the predecessor of the modern chain saw and was used at the turn of the century to buck fallen trees into lengths that mills could handle, although some were also used to fell trees. It was powered here by an old-time gas engine, while earlier models used horse and water power. Saw blades ranged from a few feet to as much as twenty feet, making it a formidable tool to carry to work each day.
