Denman Wildlife Area in Oregon’s Rogue Valley occupies former Camp White land that was placed in trust for wildlife management in 1954 and renamed in 1963 for Kenneth Denman, a Medford attorney and conservation leader who helped secure its preservation. Near Eagle Point, beside TouVelle State Recreation Site and the Table Rocks, it includes ponds, marshes, river frontage, trails, and surviving World War II ammunition storage buildings. Its two units support both habitat and recreation, with management aimed at conserving wetlands, uplands, vernal pools, and forage land, restoring Little Butte Creek for juvenile coho salmon, and maintaining the area as a popular hunting destination.
