The first worship service was held in 1799 in the home of Timothy Hitman. The Congregational Society of Derby was formed by settlers in 1807. Its members went on to form the Stanstead QC Congregational Church in 1816, the Congregational Church of Morgan in 1823, the Congregational Church of Holland in 1842, and West Charleston Congregational Church in 1844. The first Derby Congregational Church building was erected in 1820, and the current Congregational Church building was erected in 1849. In 1859, a 34-inch Hooper bronze bell from the Paul Revere Foundry was hung. In 1918, a Baptist, Methodist, Congregational Federation was formed, and a 40-inch steel Blymyer bell was brought from the Methodist church. In 1962, the federated congregations formed the United Church of Derby, which erected Parish Hall in 1966. In 2013, members joined the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference and became Derby Community Church.
