The Menard–Hodges site in Arkansas County, Arkansas, is a major archaeological complex with two large platform mounds, several house mounds, and evidence of occupation from the Baytown Period through the sixteenth-century contact era. Also known as Menard-Hodges Mounds and Osotouy, it is the type site for the Menard phase and is significant for linking late precontact and early contact-era history in the lower Mississippi Valley. Scholars have considered it a possible location of Anilco from Hernando de Soto’s 1540 expedition and a likely site of Osotouy, a Quapaw village later recorded by French explorers. Excavations in 1958 uncovered varied burials and notable earthworks, including Mound A.
