Brown Peak
Nature
Brown Peak is a mountain in California's Sequoia National Forest, in Kern County, on King Solomons Ridge at the head of Haight Canyon. It lies about 2.1 miles southwest of Liebel Peak and 12.5 miles north of Loraine. The mountain was named for Charlie Brown, a miner who lived in the area in the early 1900s. Its name ties the peak to the region's small-scale mining past as well as to the forested landscape of the Sierra.
