St. Joseph County honors veterans who died in service in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam Conflict, and other wars, naming those from the county who gave their lives, including Brian L. Morris in Iraq in 2005, Jonathan W. Edds in Iraq in 2007, and Kristopher D. Rodgers in Afghanistan in 2008, under the charge, “As They Died to Make Mankind Free, Let Us Live to Complete the Task.”
