Built between 1858 and 1859 for Joseph Keebler by various artisans, the original home had two large rooms on each floor with a hallway and staircase. Its walls were four bricks thick, and its windows were made of hand-blown glass. The kitchen stood in a separate structure behind the house and was later used as a smokehouse. In 1950, Keebler's grandson, Joseph G. Keebler, sold the home and 120 acres to Weldon Faw Keefauver and his wife, Malinda B. Keefauver. In 1964, they sold it to their son, William J. Keefauver, and his wife, Jean. L. Keefauver.
