The Ochs Brothers Department Store was founded in October 1886 by Albert, Antone, and Otto Ochs. Albert later purchased his brothers' stock and continued the business as Ochs Brothers Dept. Store. Albert Ochs lived from 1872 to 1922, and his sons Donald F. Ochs, who lived from 1905 to 1952, and Alfred L. Ochs, who lived from 1901 to 1969, were part of the family whose members maintained active community involvement for more than a century and left a rich legacy in retailing in the Faribault area.
