Built in the 1890’s for the White Sulfur Springs Sheriff’s Department, this barn had a legal gallows installed in 1917 for the execution of three men who robbed a train south of White Sulfur Springs and murdered a trainman on January 16, 1917. Henry Hall, Leslie Tahley, and Harrison Gibson were hanged on February 16, 1917. The barn was donated to Bovey Restorations by the White Sulfur Springs Historical Society and moved here intact in May 1975.
