Founded in 1902 by William W. Wertz and other Elk River residents, this is the oldest reunion of its kind in the nation. It was established to raise the civic, religious and educational standards of the community. The group meets for three days every August at its home site, “Rockwood Glen,” where prominent speakers appear on programs. The Pinch schoolhouse, which stood on the grounds from 1865 to 1913, was acquired by the association and is now used as a community building.
