Early settlers of the old Rockport Township area are buried here, along with soldiers of the American Revolution and four succeeding wars. The dates of the first burials have been lost to memory because of their antiquity. Among the Revolutionary War soldiers buried here are Jared A. Farrand, Robert B. Fife, Josiah Kellog, and Robert Wood.
