Southbound Train Station
Transportation
1
Built in 1908, this train station served passengers on southbound trains from its upper floor while the American Railway Express Co. used the lower floor. The building closed to railroad service in the 1970s, was purchased in 1985 and converted into an office building, and was accepted onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It also served as a stop where many political candidates spoke during whistle-stop campaigns.
