Emigrant Peak is a 10,926-foot mountain on the western edge of Montana’s Absaroka Range near the community of Emigrant. Rising between Emigrant Gulch and Sixmile Creek in Gallatin National Forest, just outside the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, it dominates the skyline of Paradise Valley. Its height and isolated prominence make it clearly visible from the valley floor and from U.S. Route 89. For many travelers heading south toward Gardiner and the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park, it is among the region’s most recognizable landmarks.
