The Marks Head Formation is a geologic formation in southeastern Georgia and northern Florida within the Hawthorn Group. Dating to the Burdigalian stage of the Miocene, it preserves fossils that provide evidence of life in the region during the early part of that period. Its importance is primarily paleontological, with fossil vertebrates reported from the formation. In Georgia, it is recognized as one of the state's fossil-bearing stratigraphic units.
