Hunterdon County Arboretum
Nature
Hunterdon County Arboretum is a 73-acre botanical garden in Lebanon, New Jersey, and the headquarters of the county park system. Established in 1953 as a commercial nursery that raised native and exotic trees, it was acquired by the county Park Department in 1974 and transformed into a public arboretum. Open daily without charge, it now combines horticulture and recreation, with six walking trails totaling 2 miles across the grounds. Its significance lies in its evolution from a working nursery into a public garden and park resource serving the county.
