The Strevell house, circa 1854, is the only known structure in Livingston County still standing in which Abraham Lincoln was a guest on January 27, 1860. Citizens recognized the need to preserve this historic structure for future generations and provided funds for its purchase on September 9, 2008. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
