Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park in Washington lies at the foot of Dry Falls near the Lower Grand Coulee, where lakeside recreation meets a striking Ice Age landscape. Dry Falls is a sheer cliff about 400 feet high and 3.5 miles wide that once formed the edge of a waterfall during the Missoula Floods, said to have been ten times the size of Niagara Falls. Over decades, Washington assembled the park and added features including Vista House, Camp Delany, Sun Lakes Park Resort, and an interpretive center. With Umatilla Rock, several lakes, extensive shoreline, and trails, the park offers outdoor recreation alongside a vivid view of the floods that shaped central Washington.
