Robert Loveman was a poet born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 11, 1864, who died in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on July 9, 1923. He spent most of his life in Dalton, Georgia, where he did the greater part of his writing, including the famous "Rain Song," with the lines "It isn't raining rain to me it's raining daffodils" and "The mortal tide move on to some immortal shore past purple peaks of dusk and dawn into the evermore."
