Organized in Illinois in 1833 by Daniel Parker, the Pilgrim Predestinarian Regular Baptist Church moved with its members to Texas and held its first meeting in Stephen F. Austin's Colony on January 20, 1834. A log church was built in December 1839, and an old graveyard adjoins the site. The present church is the fourth on the same site, where worship has continued without interruption since 1834. Daniel Parker served as pastor from 1833 to 1844.
