Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge in Corpus Christi, Texas, lies on the western shore of Oso Bay and is widely valued as a premier birding destination for seabirds and other coastal species. Pelicans, herons, gulls, coots, egrets, spoonbills, and ducks are regularly seen in the bay and nearby habitat, while the neighboring Pharaohs golf course also serves coastal and migratory birds. The refuge combines notable wildlife observation with accessible outdoor recreation through a bird-viewing pier, a bike and hiking trail through native plants along the water’s edge, and park amenities such as grills and picnic tables.
