Dedicated on July 17, 1887, a committee from Winchester Presbytery organized the congregation into the Davis Presbyterian Church with 14 members: William R. Wilson, Sadie M. Wilson, Herman A. Meyer, Mrs. S. L. Crabtree, A. D. Collins, Mary O. Collins, J. Neill Oliver, Mrs. P. A. Oliver, James Parsons, Annie Oble, William L. Swartz, Minnie Raese, Agustus C. Finley, and Sarah Parsons. Rev. Malcom W. Woodworth served as the first pastor.
