Anthony Wayne's Camp
Military
4
From November 1792 to April 1793, Anthony Wayne trained the Legion of the United States at this camp to prepare for the Battle of Fallen Timbers on August 20, 1794. Wayne chose the site next to abandoned Logstown to the south. For 33 years, Logstown had been the six Indian Nations Capitol of the Frontier Lands. At Fallen Timbers, General "Mad" Anthony Wayne and his legion defeated 2,000 Indians in half an hour, an event presented as changing the course of American history by opening the Northwest Territory to settlers and confining the British to Canada.
