The Aurora and Owens River Wagon Road was established by the Nevada Territorial Legislature on February 20, 1864. Its toll rates were $1.00 for a wagon with two animals, $.75 for a carriage and one animal, and $.25 for each additional animal. Empty teams returning paid half price. Saddle animals were charged $.25 each, pack animals $.15 each, and loose animals $.10 each.
