The MCRD San Diego Command Museum is a United States Marine Corps museum at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in Day Hall, Building 26. Opened on November 10, 1987, and officially designated a command museum on January 8, 1993, it preserves and exhibits artifacts and displays related to the history, heritage, and traditions of the Marine Corps. Situated within one of the service’s best-known recruit training bases, it also reflects the setting where generations of Marines have begun their training, connecting the institution’s material history to its enduring role in San Diego.
